Tori and Michael were family friends since birth and were separated when Michael’s family moved to Vancouver. In their last year of university, Tori and Michael crossed paths again when Michael was visiting Toronto and needed a place to stay. After rekindling their friendship they discovered that they had a lot in common, including engineering degrees, love for food, and passion for photography.
When they discussed the possibility of marriage, their parents were ecstatic before Michael even proposed.
Their wedding, which took place on July 7, 2013 at Harvest Bible Chapel just outside Toronto, was an emotional day. “From the crazy wedding party pictures in ninja poses to the tear-jerking moments of the first dance, any onlooker could feel the love in this family,” says Tori. “Our favourite moment was during the mother-son dance where the rest of the family joined in for a group dance.”
They also loved their first look moment, the invites, program, and décor, which were all black and white for a timeless, classy theme. The flower bouquets and aisle markers were all handmade by the groom’s mother.
After the wedding, Tori and Michael had to move to Calgary, leaving their families behind in Toronto and Vancouver.
